From February 13 to 15, New Jersey Clean Cities Coalition Chairman & Executive Director Chuck Feinberg and Co-Director Caroline McCallum attended the 2023 Energy Independence Summit in Washington, D.C., of which NJCCC was a proud sponsor.  Fellow NJCCC stakeholders & members in attendance included (from left to right) Anthony Barlotta (Encore Energy Group), Amanda Nesheiwat (Hudson County Improvement Authority & NJCCC Board Member), Pete Morano (South Jersey Gas), Sashe Annett (H2 Vision) and Jessica Harris (Harris Energy Solutions).

The conference, which took place over three days, featured meaningful discussions on the latest topics in clean transportation, meetings with Congressional representatives on Capitol Hill and roundtable discussions with leaders from various federal government agencies.

Highlights included the various networking opportunities throughout the conference, the Capitol Hill Energy Independence Reception hosted by UPS and the Clean Cities 30th Anniversary Reception, which recognized Sam Spofforth (current Clean Cities Project Leader at NREL and former CEO of Clean Fuels Ohio) for his decades of work with the Clean Cities Coalition program.

The NJCCC would like to thank the organizers of the summit, Transportation Energy Partners, as well as our valued members and stakeholders. A special thank you to the representatives of the following Congressional and Senate offices for your time in meeting with our group: Representatives Donald Payne Jr. (NJ-10), Mikie Sherrill (N-11), Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), Thomas Kean (NJ-7), Bill Pascrell Jr. (NJ-9), Donald Norcross (NJ-1), Frank Pallone Jr. (NJ-6), Rob Menendez (NJ-8), and Senators Cory Booker and Bob Menendez.

Your support for the Clean Cities mission to advance affordable, domestic fuels and technologies that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption in the transportation sector is greatly appreciated!
